Can Counseling Help?

Psychotherapy is a process of internal exploration leading to self-awareness and personal change. It can help us feel better about ourselves and improve our ability to relate effectively with others.

Counseling can help us identify and resolve self-defeating behaviors that have led to frustration, anxiety, and/or depression. It can help us increase self-confidence and improve our communication skills.

Therapy can also help us make better decisions for our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Most importantly, counseling can provide a safe and nurturing environment to address and resolve our personal issues.

Individual Counseling
Individual counseling addresses a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, anger, bereavement, identity development, abuse history, eating disorder issues, alcohol/drug abuse, and family of origin concerns. All of these issues can be addressed in the context of how they affect our ability to have the kind of relationships we desire.

Couples Counseling
Couples counseling deals more directly with improving communication skills with the people we love in an effort to build intimacy and increase satisfaction and connection in our relationship.
